Between artistic and playful objects
This project gathers objects, drawings, installations, and a visual essay. Together, they question the formal resonances between the esthetics of playful objects and the history of visual arts. In the edition the affinities between shapes and colors are presented as couples; on the large prints hanging on the walls, they are gathered as a vast map of visual references, borrowing from the Mnemosyne Atlas of Aby Warburg.
Objects are elaborated in parallel to this theoretical research. They descend directly from this curious affiliation: on one hand, they encompass a certain playfulness, as they draw the observer to manipulate them, on the other hand, they recall the preciousness and of artworks. It is this very impulse towards the object -spontaneous though inexplicably refrained- that these productions try to arouse.
